Seasonal Temporary Hiring

Seasonal temporary hired by Physical Services must be at least 18 years old. On the day they report to work new employees must have steel toed work boots to conform to OSHA Standards. There are three functions Physical Services hires seasonal workers for:

• Summer Help (May through August) - Help is hired for our Park Maintenance and Highway Departments. Jobs entail cutting grass, raking leaves, watering plants, emptying trash containers, trimming bushes, putting together playground equipment, spreading asphalt, digging holes and general laborer duties.
• Leaf Collection (October through December) - During the time frame when we pick up leaves from curbside temporary employees are hired to rake the leaf piles loose and operate the hose on the front of the TARCO machine to suck the leaves into the back of the truck.
• Snow Removal (December through March) - During snow season if storms back up we hire people on an as needed basis to help shovel sidewalks and steps on town property.
