The Wethersfield Parks and Recreation Department offers state-licensed preschool programs for children ages 3–5 years old at the William J. Pitkin Community Center, 30 Greenfield Street. The TLC Preschool Programs are committed to providing high quality preschool programs that enhance the overall development of young children. The children are in a state licensed, child-centered environment with teachers who are educated in and have had experience working with preschool age children. The children are provided with activities designed to help them become independent, self-confident, inquisitive, and enthusiastic learners!
Developmentally appropriate activities are designed with emphasis on the social, emotional, physical and cognitive abilities of preschoolers. This preschool program offers children practice in becoming part of a group, getting along with others and learning through planned activities that are age appropriate and fun.
All staff are trained and certified in CPR and First Aid.
All programs have an open door policy that encourages parents to visit the classrooms. Parents are a welcome and vital part of the early childhood experience. We offer parents and family involvement through volunteer opportunities as fundraisers, story readers, room parents, party helpers, photographers, etc.
Registration begins March 1 for the 2024-2025 Program. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is ongoing until classes are filled. A waiting list will be implemented if classes are filled.

3 day program, Tuesday through Thursday mornings, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

TLC Fearless Fours Program (4 years by SEPTEMBEr 1st)

TLC FEARLESS FOURS Lunch Bunch: $3 day
Held on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Children bring their lunch to eat while socializing with their classmates. Fee is payable in advance (sign-up sheet available in classroom) or as a drop-in.
Not ready for school? Join us for Playgroup!
TLC Playgroup (Ages 1 1/2 - 3 1/2)
Playgroup provides children an opportunity to play with their peers. This is a child's first introduction to organized preschool activities while still in the company of a parent or caregiver.
Circle time, exercise, activities, songs, show-n-tell, free play, arts & crafts, field trips and more.
Program takes place 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the TLC classroom located at the William J. Pitkin Community Center. Children may acclimate to the space, before attending TLC preschool programs independently.
You may register for classes that run September–December and January–May.
