The Town Clerk's office provides information to residents including land records, deeds, mortgages, assignments and maps, and is the registrar of Vital Statistics—birth, marriage and death. The office issues licenses for marriage, dog, sport and liquor, and offers Notary Public service to the general public. The Town Clerk also acts as the Clerk of the Town Council and is the keeper of all minutes of public meetings.
Land Records Online
Wethersfield land records are available online. The index has a starting date of Oct 1, 1991; records after October 1, 2003 include the actual documents. The records online are updated every night. An index search is free of charge; there is a charge to view/print documents. For a certified copy of a document, please visit the Town Clerk's office.
Notary services are available to the general public. Photo ID is required for each person signing the document. The Town Clerk’s office DOES NOT notarize powers of attorney, wills or documents that will be recorded on the Wethersfield land records. There is a $5.00 fee each time the notary seal is required on the document(s).
The Town Clerk’s office accepts cash or check only. NO credit or debit cards are accepted at this time.
